A very nice annotated volume of short stories for the intermediate English student of French.
I have never taught with this book. It is an autographed edition that was donated to my collection. Useful if you have ever wanted to get a traditional overview of French literature.
This book was first introduced to me by René Girard, as being one of the better autobiographies in the modern era. A bit unconventional, it treats Sartre’s first steps in literature as well as his childhood living with an overbearing grandfather.
